The 6lb Weighted Throw Blanket from Pillowfort is like giving your child a warm hug. The weight applies deep pressure to help promote a calming and relaxing feeling, for quiet time, relaxation or sleep. This solid throw features a waterproof shell that is plush fabric on one side and cool to touch on the reverse. The removeable washable shell is tied in 8 locations around the interior perimeter to a 6lb weighted insert. The box-quilt design on the weighted insert keeps the glass beads from shifting and the weight evenly dispersed throughout the blanket and is filled with BPA, phthalate and lead-free micro glass pellets.

As a general rule, weighted blankets should be sized to the body not a bed. Selecting the weight of your weighted blanket is both a combination of personal preference and a recommendation based on the weight of your child. A good starting point is to calculate 10% of their body weight plus 1-2 lbs depending on the amount of pressure your child prefers.
